Let's Face It
As we continue our quest to self-awareness, we would like to dedicate this issue to the most important masterpiece on our bodies; Our Skin! Its the largest organ on our bodies; yet many of us neglect our skin or just don’t know proper skin care. There are many treatments and regiments that can help you achieve healthy skin. We will also give you tips on how to have a great spa experience.

We wanted to dedicate this issue to our outer appearance because its just as important as the inner. Healthy skin is an investment that takes time and money. It‘s a mixture of professional treatments as well having a proper home care regiment. Your home regiment accounts for 80% of your skin’s results. However, many people are not using the products they need for their skin.

I’m often asked about my skin. People want to know what products I use. It’s important for me to tell everyone that my healthy skin did not happen overnight. Even though I work in the skin care industry, I battled acne for years and I have the scars to prove it. But with time and proper knowledge, I was able to develop a skin care routine that was perfect for my skin needs.

If you’ve never had a facial try one at koffee day spa. Visit our web site to learn more about our unique facials or we can customize your very own personal facial package. This newsletter talks about our new Celebrity Fit Facial Klub. The klub will help everyone achieve and maintain healthier skin.

Have a Happy Life and remember to keep striving for self-awareness, we are already a quarter into the year!

Spa-cerely,
Thai

Spa 101- How to Have a Great Spa Experience
Going to the spa should be a way to unwind, have fun, and most of all get a little wellness in your life. Whether you visit the spa weekly, monthly, bi-monthly or even yearly; here are some helpful tips to make your experience a great one.

1. Get Surfing Every spa should have a web site. Web sites provide much needed information such as: services offered, pricing, and most importantly policies and procedures. Make sure you read and understand each spa’s policies and procedures.

2. All In a Name The word “spa” is used very loosely these days. Spa use to mean a place where natural water such as a spring, lake or sea was used. Indians use to utilize a lot of the hot springs for their healing nature. However, as time changed so did the meaning of spa. Now everybody from hair salons to car washes are coining the term. The goal of a spa is to provide you with basic wellness. The internet is a great place to research your potential spa. Be very leery of any spa that doesn't have a web site, due to the fact that all spas are not created equal nor have wellness in mind. There are a lot of spas in Dallas alone that specialize in Happy endings and that is not legal or professional. A web site allows you to understand the vibe of your potential spa. If the spa does not have a website please make sure you ask them about their policies and procedures.

3. Reading is Power Make sure before booking with any spa, you READ and fully understand their policies and procedures. Each spa will have its own policies. Understanding the policies will help you from being liable for something like missing your appointment. Most spas set time aside for your services and it is costly when considering the potential business that was turned away for your appointment. Of course there are emergencies that may happen, but please make sure you understand your spa’s “No Show” policy.

4. Do Your Homework
Each spa has a theme or goal. Some spas are beauty, fitness or organic based. When you visit a spa you have to have an open mind to that spa and judge them based on their services and quality. That’s why its important to do your research on a spa to understand the experience the spa is trying to provide.

5. Arrive in Style Arriving in style means arriving on time! Some spas accept walk-ins but most spas operate by appointment only. Once you have made your appointment, its your responsibility to arrive on time. Arriving late can cause your service to be cut short or even canceled. Leaving early or getting directions can help you arrive in style.

6. Speak Up If you are experiencing a massage, facial, or any other spa treatment that is painful or not pleasing, let your therapist know immediately. Communication is key in the spa industry. This is the only way your therapist can know how you feel. Remember therapists are not mind readers. All spas should have you fill out required paperwork before your service. Be sure to thoroughly fill out the paperwork because it will help your therapist understand your needs.

7. A Little Extra Many spa’s have their own tipping policy. Don’t assume you can charge your gratuity. The standard in spa tipping is 18%-20%. However whatever you give is also appreciated. I guarantee no therapist is going to turn on a calculator and see if you are giving a standard tip.

One of the benefits of celebrity fit facial klub is that all facials are customized according to your needs. So, if you’re tired of using makeup to cover up your flaws then join our celebrity fit facial klub and get on track to healthier skin.

Here are our three Celebrity Fit Facial Klub Monthly Packages:

3. the Icon

$180/month or $45/facial - A savings of $400.

Why should I get facials?
Facials are a great way to keep your skin looking and feeling radiant. Facials are good to have every 4-6 weeks. Whether your treatments consist of acid, microdermbrasion or enzyme peels, the spa is going to provide you with deeper cleansing than you can do at home. In addition, a facial can help provide a very anti-aging effect on skin. All skin types and conditions should partake in anti-aging treatments. The environment is changing which does take a tremendous toll on our skin. Make sure you wear sun block daily even during winter months to avoid hyperpigmentation and aging.

Can’t I just use over-the-counter products?
The products used during your facial will be very concentrated and can only be used by a licensed therapist. Feel free to ask your therapist questions about what products will be used on your skin. Be very leery of non-professional products, you don’t want to get a facial with over-the-counter products. Spas that use professional products are more likely to carry the retail version of the products they used in your service. The professional retail products have more active ingredients than over-the-counter products. Another strong benefit of using a professional skin care line is that your home care regiment will work better with your professional treatments.

How often should I get a facial?
The celebrity fit facial klub offers weekly facials. Each week your skin will be evaluated on its progress. This will help us to have a consistent treatment routine for your skin's condition.

Will joining the facial klub give me perfect skin?
Koffee day spa cannot guarantee perfect skin. Perfect skin is a journey and it is a combination of home care, diet and commitment. In addition, you must factor in your damage. We can’t remove wrinkles, however we may be able to reduce the appearance of wrinkles.

If I'm seeing a dermatologist, can I still join the facial klub?
Yes. Unless you have a condition that would prevent you from washing your face, you can get a facial. You will be asked to fill out a facial form and at that time we need to know the condition of your skin. However, please do not go against your doctor’s orders if they says you can’t.

If I join, should I still see my dermatologist?
Dermatologists have even more powerful products than your therapist. However, sometimes people realize just tweaking a few things in their skin care regiment makes a vast improvement. Dermatologists and aestheticians can work hand in hand. For example, when your prescription medication may dull and dry your skin. We can provide treatments to help correct the dullness and bring back moisture to your skin.

How do I pay?
You must pay monthly by automatic debit.
There is also a one -time registration fee of $30.00.

Four Steps For Your Skin
Being in the beauty industry has always been such a passion for me. I’m faced many times with women coming into the spa that don’t have a skin care regiment. A skin care regiment is having a daily ritual that you do to your face daily. Having a great skin care don’t have to be expensive, however the more you invest into your skin care you will more than likely find the best results. A basic skin care should consist of the following.

Step 1: Cleanse Cleanse your face day and night. The cleanser needs to be based on your skin type. If unsure go to a skin care professional to finding out your skin type.

Step 2: Exfoliate Exfoliate 2/3 per week. This helps to keep your skin soft, reduce appearance of hyperpigmentation and fine lines. However, be very careful of abrasive exfoliants. Over exfoliating can actually damage your skin!

Step 3: Moisturize This is important no matter what type of skin you have. Get a moisturizer that fits your skin care needs. Don't be afraid to switch up your moisturizer throughout the year. You may need extra moisture in the Winter and shine control in the Summer.

Step 4: Sun Block Sun block prevents aging, hyperpigmentation and skin cancer. Apply daily, rain or shine, 365 days a year.

No matter if you get your products over-the-counter or from the spa you should make sure you are following the steps above. If you find your current regiment is not working, your skin care specialist can assist you in finding the right products that fit your needs and your pocket book. You also have to mix up your regiment. If your skin is problematic, it can get immune to a product and stop producing the results you need. Therefore, it is good to mix it up and try new cleansers and take special note of how your skin reacts each season.

The Truth About Skin Care Products
Skin care products are essential to your facial regiment. Most products are designed to last 3 to 4 months. Remember higher end products have more active ingredients and are concentrated; which means you only need to use a dime size of product.

Proper skin care products are essential. Once you hit menopause, how you cared for your skin in the past can reflect on how you will age.

Think how much your $7 lunch/4 times a week adds up throughout the year. That is $28 dollars per week, $112 per month, $1344 per year. A facial or massage a month at full price is less than what you pay eating out per month! Putting your needs and wellness first should always be a priority.

Can I Afford the Spa?
After reading all this information some of you are probably asking yourself: I know spas are great, but can I afford the spa?

Spa treatments are not only good to you but they are good for you. Spa treatments provide you with great preventative maintenance. Massages, custom treatments, and facials are proven to help detox the body. Did you know 95% of most diseases come from the colon?

Most people view spas as an expensive luxury; which makes going to a spa only for special moments. Yes, spas can be expensive. However, if you factor in how much we spend on eating out, going to happy hours, and our precious Starbucks coffee breaks, the true question is: How can we not go to a spa?

I would like you to think about how much it would take for you to really take care of your temple. When it comes to taking care of you, a price tag should not be in the equation. Koffee is completely dedicated to helping our customers and community become self-aware. We offer many affordable services and packages. The average cost for an hour service at a spa is $70 not including gratuity. Being beautiful on the outside is great but knowing you are beautiful from the inside out is priceless!
